Fun facts about Wembley Stadium

The original stadium opened in 1923 and was called Empire Stadium back then. The Wembley Stadium underwent reconstructions from 2000 until 2007 for a record amount of one billion euros, which makes it the most expensive reconstruction of a football stadium in history. The stadium has been the home ground of Tottenham Hotspur for one season because they weren’t able to play in their own stadium at the time, but the national team plays its home games at the stadium now and the League Cup and FA Cup finals are usually hosted at Wembley. The stadium’s capacity is 90,000 during football matches, which makes it the largest football stadium of the United Kingdom. The capacity is 75,000 during a concert. The stadium has an UEFA four-star rating.
